Cranio-mandibular dysfunction (CMD)

Cranio-mandibular dysfunctions (CMD) describe various disorders of the masticatory apparatus, which can often lead to pain in the jaw area, cracking or crunching noises during jaw movement, reduced mouth opening, headaches, dizziness or even tinnitus.

Differentiated analysis as basis for treatment

The therapy of cranio-mandibular dysfunction consists in the identification and treatment of the symptom-triggering structure. The temporomandibular joints themselves, the masticatory muscles, teeth or even the spine can be the cause of pain. The corresponding structures are treated via manual therapy. Together with you, we will construct a program to reduce the pain and will provide you with exercises to perform independently.

Interdisciplinary therapy for sustainable success

Dentist, orthodontist, oral surgeon and physiotherapist must be involved in the treatment of cranio-mandibular dysfunction in order to achieve lasting success. Therefore, we work closely with these professionals to ensure your success. Do you need a splint for your teeth? Are there any other orthopedic problems? Together we will develop your personal therapy concept.
